Rose Jochum is Director of Internal Initiatives at the Autism Society. Ms. Jochum joined the Autism Society in February 2006, working in the Chapters and Membership department. Impressed with the dedication and passion of the incredible individuals with autism, parents and professionals that make up the Autism Society network, Rose wanted to learn all that she could to serve those with autism. In October 2008, she moved over to work in the Autism Society's contact center, wanting to expand her knowledge and to serve families directly. In 2012, Rose became a Certified Information and Referral Specialist and focused on expanding the contact center.

In 2014, she began to take on a larger programmatic role as Director of Internal Initiatives. Rose has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Italian Language and Literature from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her degree was an expression of her love of understanding others in their own language; she feels in many ways autism is its own language and success comes when you meet people where they are.

Interests

Rose's interests include autism, community inclusion, neurodiversity, self-determination, world literature and culture, cooking (especially vegetarian), and baking.
