ED&I Action Plan Implementation Groups:
From May 2021- May 2022, the UCEDD Resource Center has launched three work groups that meet monthly to support implementation of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan. The three groups include: Strategic Planning, Research & Evaluation, and Cultural and Linguistic Competency.

AUCD's Plain Language Advisory Group
The Plain Language Advisory Group advises the UCEDD Resource Center (URC) on improving the plain language accessibility of their support and training to the AUCD Network. The group meets regularly to advise the URC, provides trainings to the UCEDD Network on topics related to plain language, and serves as a place to share resources and strategies for plain language.

AUCD's Spanish Language Caucus
The Spanish Language Caucus advises the UCEDD Resource Center (URC) on improving the Spanish language accessibility of their support and training to the AUCD Network. The group meets regularly to assist AUCD central office staff to identify and address barriers to language access for Spanish-speaking network members and improve engagement by serving as a focus group; functions as a mutual learning community, sharing best practices and innovative resources from around the AUCD network; and Focuses on a collective project of relevance to the broader AUCD network.

Workgroup for Equitable Engagement with Indigenous Communities
The Indigenous Communities Work Group provides a collaborative space for centers working with or seeking to partner with indigenous communities more effectively and equitably. The work group meets quarterly and is a great place to think through projects and obstacles and find partners.

AUCD's Multicultural Council (MCC)
The Multicultural Council (MCC) provides leadership and assists the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) to respond to the requirements for inclusion, diversity, and cultural competence as set forth in the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of RIghts Act of 2000. The Council supports AUCD to implement its Strategic Map with an emphasis on growing diverse and skilled leaders, and modeling equity, diversity, and inclusion with and on behalf of people with developmental disabilities and their families throughout the network.

AUCD's Council on Leadership in Advocacy (COLA)
The mission of the AUCD Council on Leadership in Advocacy (COLA) is to advise and assist the AUCD network to enhance the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. COLA works to enhance AUCD by fostering and supporting current and new leaders with lived experience of disability, including their family members in order to promote this same leadership in their programs, communities, and regions, and to serve in liaison roles with local disability leadership.
