Stories are powerful. Especially the stories from leaders at the forefront of advocacy, impact, and change. This is why we invite you to tune in to our brand new show, AUCD Network Narratives. Hosted by Jeiri Flores, an advocacy specialist at the Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities and the co-chair for the Council on Leadership and Advocacy, AUCD Network Narratives feature guests from all over our network to tell us their stories. Each episode will take you on a journey through advocacy and the ways our guests are working to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion and reduce disparities for Black and brown disabled people. Tune in weekly for new inspirational stories and submit your own story.

[00:00:00] Jeiri Flores: Welcome to AUCD network narratives, where we share real stories from our members. I'm your host, JD Flores advocacy specialist at the strong center for developmental disabilities and the co-chair for the council on leadership and advocacy. Join us as we hear from inspiring leaders within our next. Working to make a change.

[00:00:29] There is so much power in our stories. We just need a place to tell them welcome to the first season of AUCD network narratives, where we have invited folks from all over our network to tell us their stories, but also highlighting the ways they're working to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion for disabled.

[00:00:45] I'm your host, JD Flores and advocate by trade seven years ago, I was a lend trainee and now I not only serve as a faculty member for our land program. I work for our youth as an advocacy specialist. I have had the privilege to not only grow within AUCD, but to meet some amazing [00:01:00] people I used to D or the association of university centers on disabilities is made up of interdisciplinary centers across all us states.

[00:01:07] And. That advanced policy and practice for people with developmental and other disabilities. Listening to the, hear the stories of those in our network and how they are learning and growing in this work. Thank you for tuning into AUCD network narratives.
