Hosted by Jeiri Flores, an advocacy specialist at the Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities and the co-chair for the Council on Leadership and Advocacy, AUCD Network Narratives feature guests from all over our network to tell us their stories. Each episode will take you on a journey through advocacy and the ways our guests are working to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion and reduce disparities for Black and brown disabled people. I'm your host, JD Flores advocacy specialist at the strong center for developmental disabilities and the co-chair for the council on leadership and advocacy. Join us as we hear from inspiring leaders within our next. Working to make a change.

We just need a place to tell them welcome to the first season of AUCD network narratives, where we have invited folks from all over our network to tell us their stories, but also highlighting the ways they're working to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion for disabled.

[00:00:45] I'm your host, JD Flores and advocate by trade seven years ago, I was a lend trainee and now I not only serve as a faculty member for our land program. I work for our youth as an advocacy specialist. I have had the privilege to not only grow within AUCD, but to meet some amazing [00:01:00] people I used to D or the association of university centers on disabilities is made up of interdisciplinary centers across all us states.

[00:01:07] And. That advanced policy and practice for people with developmental and other disabilities.
