Ruth Evangelista was born in Mexico City; She graduated with a degree in International Studies from The National Autonomous University of Mexico and has a certificate in lay ministry from Saint Thomas University. She moved to the US in 1994. She has 2 children and twin grandsons. Ruth has over 14 years of experience working in community and social service and have strong skills in case management, crisis intervention, public health, community outreach and engagement. Two years ago, she joined to the Screen@3 team at Early Childhood Education Services in Bloomington to provide to Spanish speaking screenings, resources and information about early childhood education opportunities to Latino communities. Ruth is the Director and co-founder of La RED Latina de EducaciĆ³n Temprana Minnesota. In her Diversity Disability Fellowship Year, Ruth has a special interest in increasing access to the families in early childhood disabilities and special education, advocate and support to vulnerable communities, especially Latino families. Her passion is to see people positively impact the vibrant character of their own community.
